Homecoming 1981 is . . ,

12/Homecoming

Alot Of Fun

The Homecoming events of 1981
started Friday night with a lively
pep rally. Once again, Bruno gave his
special touch and spirit to the pep
rally crowd. The highpoint of the
evening was when Gwen Stauffer of
the Landscaping Club was crowned
the 1981 Homecoming Queen.

A late Friday night of float and
spirit car building ended with many
tired people waiting for the parade.
Saturday morning found the streets
of town lined with many people to
see the parade lead by Grand Mar-
shall Marc Howard of Channel 6, Ac-
tion News. At the game, he re-
crowned Gwen as Homecoming
Queen. Block and Bridle won the
float competition and Elson Hall
won the dorm decorating contest.

13/Homecoming

D.V.C. Struck By Halloween
Fever

Once again, DVC was struck by
Halloween fever. The campus buzzed
with Pre-Halloween activities and
decorations. Then the moment the
students had waited for, the Hallow-
een dance, began with students
dressed in costume. As always, Hal-
loween provided to be one of the
high points of the fall.

15/Halloween

DVC Travelers Compete In IM Football

DVC offers many sides to campus
life. There is books, studys, and ac-
tivities such as dances, movies, con-
certs and special events. The greatest
experience for the campus person is
the dorm life which provides a home,
friends to hang around with, and
many events to make college life in-
teresting and rememberable.

Christmas celebrations mark the
beginning of the winter season at
DVC. Winter offers the campus a dif-
ferent look which includes snow
piles, a frozen Lake Archer and an
icy parking lot. With the cold winds,
students hurry around preparing for
Christmas and vacation with various
activities such as decorating dorms,
shopping and Christmas concerts.
This season is a special attraction to
the DVC traveler.

Without These Travelers There

I did not know Admissions had a
third floor. When the Senior Pic-
tures coming? Why can't we receive
our yearbooks in the spring? These
statements are heard by the small
number of members which compose
the Cornucopia staff. The staff has
the impossible task to cover the
whole year of events at DVC and
condense them to form a yearbook.
The Cornucopia staff is composed of
students who take pictures, write and
type copy, layout pages, draw
artwork and handle the business
area. The Cornucopia always needs
students to make the book represent
more of the college population.

Rapport Among People

RAP is a social organization that
attempts to socialize through the
school to areas within and outside
the college. RAP sponsors function
in order to recruit people to DVC.

The club holds contests such as
raffles, give dances in order to raise
money. The club also has a scholar-
ship program. RAP holds the intra-
muel B-ball championship crown for
two years.

The club held their Annual Fash-
ion show in April of 1981. Plenty of
talented models with beautiful faces.

To all the members thank you and
good luck in the future.

Fred T. Wolford

To The Graduating Class of 1982:

On behalf of the Agronomy Depart-
ment, I would like to congratulate you on
the successful completion of four years of
college work. During these years you have
received a good education at Delaware
Valley College, which you will appreciate
even more after you have been out of col-
lege for a while. I am confident, you will
follow the example of those who have pre-
ceded you and make good use of it in the
years to come.

Best wishes and good luck in your cho-
sen career from all of us!

Julian Prundeanu, Chairman

Leaders In Business

To The Class of 1982

What a time to be graduating from
college, to be starting a career in the
business world! Is that a positive or neg-
ative statement? How did you view it
when you read it? We, the faculty in
Business Administration, feel very
positive about your ability and the edu-
cation you have received to equip you
for today's challenges. The economic
problems which we all face are exciting
challenges for you to work on, resolve
and grow from. What a good time it is to
be graduating from college!

George F. West,

Chairman, Business Department

Edward J. McCool

To The Class of 1982:

Way back when, you accepted a person-
al challenge: To purse a career and a col-
lege education simultaneously. Your de-
gree is the sucessful culmination of part of
your personal challenge. You are to be
congratulated upon completing a program
that required great sacrifice and dedica-
tion. May your other goals and challenges
also come to sucessful conclusions.

On behalf of the Animal Husband-

on completion of your degree.

During the past four years, you
have received a wealth of knowledge
enabling you to successfully pursue a
career in your chosen field. Continue
to build upon the knowledge and im-

always opportunities for knowledga-

Congratulations and best wishes

"Fortunately science, like that nature to
which it belongs, is neither limited by time
nor space. It belongs to the world, and is of
no country and of no age. The more we know,
the more we feel our ignorance; the more we
feel how much remains unknown; and in phi-
losophy, the sentiment of the Macedonian
hero can never apply, — there are always new
worlds to conquer."

SAMUEL M. JACKSON IV
April 3, 1960-October 26, 1979

Samuel M. Jackson IV

Upon First encounter, his spark-
ling eyes capture attention. Set wide,
they reflect strength; soft blue, they
threaten no violence. In time, consid-
eration and sensitivity intertwined
with kindness flow through each
gaze. When he talks through his
small, well-formed mouth, his dark
brows twitch with expression. Broad
jaw and high cheek bones contribute
as assets to his sharp, smiling sense
of humor. His thick, dark, shining
hair exemplifies his good health and
cleanliness. A strong stance and pow-
erful shoulders make the most of his
small stature. They, along with a de-
liberate stride, alert even strangers
to his athletic abilities. Yet his stride
contains no strut of conceit. The at-
mosphere his being radiates is filled
with confidence and determination
to grow to his fullest potential while
encouraging others, too.

Morning Has Broken

Morning has broken like the first

morning.
Black bird has spoken like the first

bird.
Praise for the singing. Praise for

the morning,
Praise for them springing fresh

from the world.

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit

from heaven.
Like the first dew fall on the first

grass.
Praise for the sweetness of the wet

garden,
Sprung in completeness where his

feet pass.

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the

morning,
Born of the one light Eden saw

play.
Praise with elation, praise ev'ry

morning,
God's recreation of the new day.

The Four Year

Trip Is Over

With Graduation

THE WHITE HOUSE

Washington

April 16, 1982

To the 1982 Graduates of Delaware
Valley College of Science and Agri-
culture:

Today you celebrate an achieve-
ment in which you can rightfully
take great pride and satisfaction. As
graduates of a fine American college,
you are an important part of our na-
tion's hope for the future.

You are here today because of your
own effort and because your families
and teachers had faith in your abili-
ties. They made sacrifices to help
you achieve this goal and you worked
diligently to justify the opportunity
which has been afforeded you. But
your work is not ended. As you move
forward in new directions, you will
work to fulfill the hopes and expecta-
tions which have been invested in
you. In so doing, you will renew the
great faith which our nation has tra-
ditionally placed on the value of edu-
cation.

Scholarship has prepared you, in
mind and in spirit, to function at a
higher and more complex level. Now
it is your responsibility to play your
part and to enhance the history of
mankind's accomplishments.

I join all those saluting you, your
parents and your teachers. May you
continue to hold their admiration
and to earn their pride. May you al-
ways dare to dream and may you find
the means to make your dreams
come true.

Congratulations.

Ronald Reagan

For Putting Up

With This Yearbook.

Editor's Message

I hoped you have enjoyed traveling through this year's DVC
Travel Guide. I have mixed emotions as I finally reach the last
page and my editor's message. I can't believe the book is finally
finished. To the staff of Cornucopia, thank you for xour help in
making this book special. To Darryl and Joan, this book could
not have been completed without your dedication. Good Luck
next year.

I would like to give thanks to some special people who gave
support to the yearbook and to me. To the Faculty, Administra-
tion, Clubs and Sports teams, thank you for help with informa-
tion and pictures. To Tony and Linda, the photography is great
and thank you for always being there to take pictures with your
special touch. To the ladies of Financial Aid, thank you for all
the help, support and interest in the book. Mr. O'Brien, thank
you for your help so we could make our deadlines. I could not
have done it without you. To Mr. Sauer, thank you is not
enough. I would have given up many times without you being
there to listen to all my problems and always ready to help.
Thank you.

To my roommate, Margaret, thank you for your support,
listening to me, putting up with the phone calls and the mess in
our room. Without your support, this book would never have
been completed. Janice, Tacy, Rusty, Pat, Mike, Jim, John, and
Scott, thanks for putting up with me and all the talk about
yearbook. To my parents, I give a special thanks for the support
and guidance they gave me this year.

Thank you is not enough to the people for the help they gave.
This has been the best experience for me and I have learned alot
from this book. I am very sad to see it end but I can't wait to see
the book and I hope you will enjoy the 1982 Cornucopia.

Charleen
